Former brides, what was your:
Something old?
Something new? (dont' say dress/shoes)
Something borrowed?
Something blue? (is this just to rhyme?)
I have an idea for something blue, but what did you do?
Anything you did at your wedding or have seen at weddings that you thought was just amazing?
Something knew: a pair of earrings that my Dad gave me on our wedding day.
ReplyDeleteSomething borrowed: My grandmother's rosary draped in my bouquet.
Something blue: my Godmother made me a sixpence made from blue material; I put it in my shoe. All of my cousins have since used it.
My something old was my grandmother's rosary...I forgot that one. ;-)
ReplyDeletegracious - it was so long ago i'm having a hard time remembering!!
ReplyDeleteSomething old - I wore my mom's wedding dress/veil
Something new - uh - my shoes :O)
Something borrowed - a necklace and earrings from a friend
Something blue - the garter i wore had blue ribbon on it
Ok, I'm ignorant...sixpence? Like a coin? In your shoe? I'm so confused!
ReplyDeleteI had a sixpence too! Someone sent it to me taped to their RSVP and I put it in my shoe. Yes, it's a coin!
DeleteSomething Old: Earring given to me by Josh's mom a few Christmas's before.
ReplyDeleteSomething new: Undergarments! (Haha!)
Something Borrowed: Veil
Something Blue: Panties
Sixpence is the last part of the poem that gets forgotten. I did not have one. You can order then online. The tradition is for your FATHER to stick the sixpence in your left shoe....or is it right? I forget.
The last wedding I was in, we forgot the sixpence, so we found a penny from the year the bride was born and used that!
